As Twitchy reported earlier this week, a massive convoy of trucks was headed toward Ottawa, Ontario to protest the government’s vaccine mandate, with supporters lining the roads with flags and signs. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the protest, saying it was a “small, fringe minority” that held “unacceptable views” that were undermining the rights, freedoms, and values of Canadians.
The following day, we’d heard that Trudeau was isolating himself for five days due to recent COVID exposure.
Now, on Saturday, CBC News is reporting that Trudeau and his family have been moved to an “undisclosed location” as the protests begin in earnest. CBC reports:
The trucks that have gathered along Wellington Street in front of the Parliament Buildings are adorned with banners denouncing public health measures and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Some warn that communism will take hold in Canada if COVID-19-related restrictions continue. Dozens of truckers are blasting their horns to announce their presence.
Amid security concerns, Trudeau and his family have been moved from their home to an undisclosed location in the nation’s capital, sources said.
The protest, while loud and disruptive, has been peaceful to this point.
