Jen Psaki puts the blame on the CDC for confusion about what being 'fully vaccinated' means

There’s been some confusion about what “fully vaccinated” means, and that becomes important when municipalities like New York City and Washington, D.C. are requiring proof of vaccination (and a photo ID!) to dine out.

At the end of December, the New York Times reported that the Omicron variant was making health officials ponder what it means to be “fully vaccinated.” And just a few days ago, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said, “We’re pivoting our language” … “you need to get your booster in order to be up to date.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked Wednesday if the Biden administration had any regrets about the confusion between being fully vaccinated and up to date. Psaki punted to the CDC.

Fox News reports:

Asked by a reporter if the administration has any regrets about the unclear distinction between the terms “fully-vaccinated” and “up-to-date on vaccinations,” Psaki deflected blame for the confusion away from the White House.

Asked by a reporter if the administration has any regrets about the unclear distinction between the terms “fully-vaccinated” and “up-to-date on vaccinations,” Psaki deflected blame for the confusion away from the White House.

“They’ve also said that the term ‘fully vaccinated’ refers to your primary series,” Psaki continued, referencing the vaccines against COVID-19 that were developed by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and other pharmaceutical companies. “So that means, being up-to-date on your vaccines.”

We’re still confused. Psaki always deflects questions about the vaccine to our public health experts, but our public health experts really suck at messaging.

Didn’t Gov. Ron DeSantis warn us about this?

Israel is already on the second booster, making it four shots.

What if you’re behind and you’ve only had the first shot so far … does your vaccine card still grant you access to public life or do they just not care as long as you’ve got the passport?
