We suppose it’s a good thing we’re here at Twitchy because the balance between liberal media outlets monitoring conservative ones (picture CNN’s Brian Stelter glued to Fox News all day, every day) and conservative ones monitoring liberal ones is way off. Media Matters is always keeping an eye on Ben Shapiro, and senior researcher Jason Campbell has caught Shapiro on video suggesting that the Omicron variant might be the solution to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dang, he’s right. Thanks for highlighting, Jason!
— BuffaloDad (@CatholicConser5) December 14, 2021
This is absolutely correct, thanks for sharing
— JT (@twittahlessJ) December 14, 2021
Thanks for putting this out there. He’s absolutely right.
Are you on DW payroll? Might inquire as a contractor!

Brilliant analysis by Ben! Thanks Jason.

I am genuinely curious, how does any of your work meet the criteria for the label "researcher"? Please explain

Yeah. That’s not really remotely controversial. Too soon to say for sure but signs are enouraging. Try harder🙄

Ok. This Ben dude makes some sense. Maybe we should all hope Omicron becomes the dominant strain. More data needed. But it would be great news if it becomes more dominant and it’s less deadly.
— John Cincinnatus (@CincinnatusJohn) December 14, 2021
If the virus can be more easily transmitted and is of no real danger then everyone is gonna get immunity at the expense of a mild chest cold. What exactly is up for debate here? The vaccine is already said to be ineffective against it so….

Do you think this is an “own” or something dude? He’s right…

I mean if natural immunity works like the last 200 years of science has shown. Then yes he’s right.
— All praise to the king ☦️🇻🇦 (@keepmeFr33) December 14, 2021
If you know anything about viruses, you know Ben is correct.
— DoneWithGreys (@mtnrunfx) December 14, 2021
I couldn't agree with Shapiro more. Natural immunity is better than the shot. This has been proved in studies. We need to stop running from the inevitable. Which is, everyone will eventually get sick. Why not allow it to happen with a less lethal variant? Makes sense to me.
— Arthur Morgan (@ArthurMorganTX) December 15, 2021
I bet if you listened to the whole show, you would realize this stance is coming from doctors. But I guess that would destroy the narrative.
— f u n the a (@f_u_n_the_a_) December 14, 2021
He’s correct. Why don’t the staff at Media Matters follow the science?
— RedBloodedAmerica (@RedBloodedGuy) December 14, 2021
Maybe they are, and they decided this information from Shapiro was so valuable they wanted to promote it.
Correct Jason. You always pick the best clips for us to learn from. Thank you.
— Luke Jackson (@LukeJac95674750) December 14, 2021
Makes perfect sense that a mild variant overtaking a more deadly variant is a good thing
— Curt Marshall (@CurtMarshall10) December 14, 2021
— Hillbilly HODL (@hillbillydaddy) December 14, 2021
How much is Ben paying you to promote his material, Jason?
— Jake (@jakeaporter) December 14, 2021
But literally everything he said is completely dead on accurate. For people still talking or thinking about covid that is. Are you sharing this as an endorsement of Ben, or are your followers that far gone that this 90 second clip would freak them out?
— Professor John Rodiggio (@ProfessorjRod) December 14, 2021
I'm sorry, was this posted as some kind of gotcha?
— Marcus Capitolinus ✝️ (@KritHouse2021) December 14, 2021
The fact that you thought this was an "own" says so much about your lack of critical thinking. Whether you agree with Shapiro politically or not, this is a pretty rock solid argument.

Technically, Campbell never said Shapiro was wrong. We guess those who follow Media Matters were supposed to see this and freak out.
