Big Bird has been in the news a lot lately after tweeting that he’d just gotten his COVID-19 vaccine and his wing was a little sore. People who know better than this editor say Big Bird is 6 years old, so he and other 5-to 11-year-olds are now approved to get the Pfizer vaccine. This was a big f’in deal … even President Joe Biden replied to the tweet congratulating the yellow puppet on doing the right thing.
There has been some controversy, though. Not everyone is comfortable marketing the vaccine directly to kindergarteners, like when CNN had an “ABCs of the COVID Vaccine” town hall featuring Big Bird and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
Now, there’s a bit of a feud going on between Big Bird and Sen. Ted Cruz after this tweet:
