As Twitchy reported, New Jersey truck driver Edward Durr unseated the president of the state senate, Democrat Steve Sweeney, Tuesday night after spending $153 on his campaign. Area expert Tom Nichols seems a little salty about it because Durr ran because he was denied a concealed carry permit.
So, the guy who defeated the NJ Senate president ran because he was denied a concealed carry permit.
I'm sure this will all go very well and produce a fine, informed legislator.— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) November 4, 2021
I'm sure you think you're being sarcastic, because you're an asshole.

Government infringed on his constitutional right. That seems like a good reason to get in the game.

I don't recall the concealed carry part of the Constitution, but I'm sure this will all turn out swimmingly

Seems like a perfectly fine reason to run to me. https://t.co/AdIV2qgF5k

He ran to fight for his constitutional rights.
Is there any better reason? https://t.co/z6QhWdc5I4

Denial of one's constitutional rights strikes me as a very American reason to run for office—if not to draft a list of grievances and revolt against the crown. https://t.co/ikkFSuTwrj

Citizen upset by what he sees as a government infringement of his rights and decides to run for office. Isn't that what we aspire to? https://t.co/GLKiZvHicG

So he had an actual reason to get into politics other than the grift? https://t.co/Srm0qr8Yqu
