Man found dressed as a woman in women's bathroom charged with child porn

Wow, this takes us back. It was 2016 when North Carolina Republican Gov. Pat McCrory signed a bill to overturn a bathroom ordinance that allowed men to use women’s bathrooms. This was a big deal. A “deeply concerned” NBA hinted that it would pull the 2017 All-Star Game from Charlotte over the discriminatory law. Bruce Springsteen announced he wouldn’t be performing in North Carolina due to the state’s “bathroom” law. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order barring any nonessential travel there.

Here we are in 2021, and a man dressed as a woman taking pictures in a women’s restroom has been arrested after having been found in possession of child porn. There’s no indication that the suspect is transgender, just a pervert.

CBS Boston reports:

“A mother and daughter reported there was a person acting strange, a man dressed as a woman wearing a wig,” said Wrentham Police Chief Bill McGrath.

When Wrentham Police responded to the outlets in August, where women reported a man behaving suspiciously in a women’s bathroom, an investigation began that would uncover far more sinister evidence. A witness photo showed what appeared to be pen cameras – recording devices – laced into the man’s sneakers.

Surveillance video soon led investigators to 23-year-old Jacob Guerrero of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. A search warrant gave police access to his phone, which contained photos and videos of child pornography.

“Some of the children he allegedly had on his phone were 8, 9, 10, 11 years old,” McGrath said.

It might show that people who supported North Carolina’s bathroom law weren’t just being close-minded transphobes. Maybe they had some legitimate concerns and didn’t deserve to be shouted down.
