Congressman Mike Honda of California, who proudly raised the transgender flag next to the American flag outside his office last week, was among those “disappointed” in North Carolina for using the same week to pass transphobic legislation.

North Carolina’s legislation bars transgender individuals from choosing which restroom to use based on their gender identities. It also excludes sexual orientation and gender identity from state anti-discrimination protections.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t simply disappointed in North Carolina; he’s actually signed an executive order barring any nonessential travel there.

Proud that Gov. Andrew Cuomo banned all non-essential trips to NC over new anti-gay law. Bigotry has consequences. https://t.co/iphIC6Qnsx
