We’re just now getting word that the jury in the Derek Chauvin trial has reached a verdict, and it will be read between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Eastern, so at this point, Rep. Ilhan Omar is right to say that it’s a closed case — until the appeal, when Chauvin’s defense cites Rep. Maxine Waters’ rant about getting more confrontational and President Biden’s hope that the jury reaches the right verdict, which we’re now told was not the president weighing in.
Still, Omar had no idea the verdict had been reached when she told reporters that the Chauvin case felt like a closed case to her. Why can’t elected officials just hold off — or better yet, call for peace despite the verdict?
“The case, to me, feels like a closed case,” says Rep. Ilhan Omar on the Chauvin trial

It's almost like they're trying to get a mistrial. . . . . hmmm, wonder why? ?

Would expect that response from an ideologue

Another vote for acquittal on appeal.

These Dems just can’t help themselves. Why can’t they just shut up until the Jury gives a verdict?

In my humble opinion politicians should stay out of it.

In her opinion there was no need for a trial…

This is what social justice really looks like; trial by opinion and feeling.
I.E. not real justice.

The more influencers weigh in on this before a verdict, the easier the appeal is gonna be.

The judge came right out and said it yesterday; Waters had practically handed the defense material to use in their appeal.
They just cannot shut up! Go legislate (which you were hired to do) not prosecute (which you have no idea about).
— BB (@blister941) April 20, 2021
Didn't the judge just ask elected officials to refrain from this sort of talk? Seems like she doesn't trust the system but is trying to give the system more power daily too. How's that work?

Amazing how these people are praying for someone to go to jail, rather than praying for no violence after the judgement is made.

They just can't stop. First Waters, then Biden, now this…
They really want a mistrial.

If Biden and other Democrats want to weigh in, can’t they just say they hope whatever the verdict, people don’t riot?
