As Twitchy reported earlier, Real Journalist™ Maeve Reston all but swooned after presidential candidate Kamala Harris accused Attorney General William Barr of not looking at the evidence underlying the Mueller report before issuing his four-page summary of it. CNN has video of the 2020 contender grandstanding (again):

Exiting the hearing, Harris doubled-down and said that Barr should resign:
After questioning William Barr @senkamalaharris: "This Attorney General lacks all credibility and has I think compromised the American public's ability to believe that he is a purveyor of justice."
Q: "Should he resign?"
Harris: "Yes." pic.twitter.com/hh8rBVHBjj

Brit Hume wonders what Harris would be saying now if Barr had withheld release of the report until he’d reviewed all the underlying evidence.
He accepted Mueller’s findings of fact. He based his decision on the law. Imagine what Harris et al would be saying if he’d decided to review 2 years of evidence. They’d be screaming he’s stalling & covering up. https://t.co/m7kGmqcreF
— Brit Hume (@brithume) May 1, 2019
Yes. And I’m pretty sure I heard lots of senators ask questions assuming the facts found by Mueller. Don’t recall them saying they couldn’t be sure their questions were valid because they haven’t examined the underlying evidence.

That was the Democrats’ demand the minute the Mueller report was declared finished: release the whole thing now, unredacted, along with all underlying evidence. Maybe they should have held off on their hearing until they’d sifted through two years’ worth of evidence, including the million documents President Trump turned over.
This is the latest instance of the supposed evidence of a vast criminal conspiracy being just over the horizon. It used to be that it’d be revealed in the Mueller report; not its buried somewhere in the underlying materials of the Mueller report https://t.co/R2OQqXw3ix
— Rich Lowry (@RichLowry) May 1, 2019
The key to impeachment is in there somewhere if they just keep digging and digging. That’s what the whole thing was for.
I agree 100% Mr. Hume

Mueller had evidence and then expected the AG to reach a conclusion Mueller himself was not prohibited from making, yet was unwilling to make.
— Jamie Crew (@Crusaydah) May 1, 2019
Mueller had 2 years and 400 pages to make a clear point. He failed to do so.
— Tom Carroll (@tomccarroll) May 1, 2019
did she even read the report??
— lt (@LeilaT888) May 1, 2019
Someone should ask her if she actually read the report herself before asking staff written questions. Smh
— PKRodriguez407 (@Paulkenneth407) May 1, 2019
It’s completely ridiculous to think Barr would re-examine the mountains of documentary evidence collected by Mueller’s little army of investigators. That’s the whole reason for a report – so the AG doesn’t have to.
— Bill Dodson (@DodsonBill) May 1, 2019
Think she ever did that as a prosecutor? I doubt it.
— Chuck Brownson (@chrissquire6) May 1, 2019
@SenKamalaHarris wants a special prosecutor to review all the evidence of the special prosecutor who in the beginning they adored now they despise because he didn’t present the Democrats pre determined conclusions. Crazy Mazy needs a new psychiatrist.
— Ken Hoag (@35start) May 1, 2019
She basically asked him if he investigated the investigation. Unreal!
— Maple Sugar (@MapleSu83765869) May 1, 2019
Barr's retort should have been "I shall review, be back in 2 years"
— blue (@blue_prop) May 1, 2019
Exactly! They wanted the report yesterday. What a bunch of jokers
— Geri-Lynn Copeland (@gcoperunner) May 1, 2019
They freaked out when he wanted a week or so to carefully read the dang thing. We need more people in DC who take time to carefully read and think before acting. Not, “we need to pass it to find out what’s in it.”
— Crazy Diamond (@JonBLoveAZ) May 1, 2019
She was very disrespectful and interrupted. Of course he could have provided nothing or he could have said it would take about two years to review the evidence, but he did not.
— Barry Zalma, Esq., CFE (@bzalma) May 1, 2019
Exactly! Two years in and they are STILL trying to overturn a free and fair election. Mueller was God until he couldn't come up with the goods.
— CPG (@CPG925) May 1, 2019
I have never seen such child like behavior amongst Democrats on this panel. Haughty. Gotcha. Snitty. Arrogant. I am glad Americans see right through this outrageous behavior.
— Regenia Clark (@regeniahope) May 1, 2019
@KamalaHarris knows this, she is just trying to make a campaign commercial! #maga
— Hammom (@Hammom8) May 1, 2019
@SenKamalaHarris Campaigning at Barr's expense. It's not working…try harder.
— Ally (@hokielionmomma) May 1, 2019
She is a disgrace. Zero credibility. Grandstanding to promote her campaign.
— Linda Basili (@lbasili1) May 1, 2019
Exactly, these Democrats are just grandstanding for the election. What a total embarrassment today was for our country.
— Mark J Whitefield (@markcmatm) May 1, 2019
Maybe he should’ve answered like she usually does…”let’s have a conversation about that”
— Superfly (@MEETL0AF) May 1, 2019
There is nothing to satisfy these people unless you 100% agree with what they said based on their imagination other than facts.
— X_file (@369supernova) May 1, 2019
The exchange today between Sen. Harris and AG Barr is one of the general reasons I believe she will never be elected president. This hearing was not a court of law. People wanted to hear what AG Barr has to say. Her yes/no questioning prevented that from happening.
— Fredziffel (@Fredziffel6) May 1, 2019
It’s a circus and embarrassment and a waste of our tax payer money
— David Furukawa (@DaveTheBlindGuy) May 1, 2019
So Barr wasn’t supposed to trust what was in Mueller’s 400-page report and review all the underlying evidence himself? We remember when a reporter couldn’t believe Barr had read 400 pages over a single weekend, and now they can’t believe he didn’t sift through millions of pages.
