Bill Barr throws more cold water on last night's 'bombshell,' asks why Mueller didn't just call him

As Twitchy reported Tuesday night, both The Washington Post and The New York Times had journalists and pundits across the country hyperventilating into paper bags with a “bombshell” report on the eve of Attorney General William Barr’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Word was out that Robert Mueller had written a letter saying he had problems with Barr’s four-page summary of his report: not a problem with the content, mind you, but concerns that the media were misinterpreting it in their coverage.

Barr had addressed the story earlier in the day, saying that Mueller was concerned the press coverage, not the summary, was inaccurate.

Maybe if Mueller had reached a conclusion on obstruction it would have been a much simpler matter to report. In any case, Barr poured more cold water on the reports that suggested Mueller thought his four-page letter was inaccurate and covering for the president.

Hmm … why wouldn’t Mueller just pick up the phone if he had concerns over the press’s interpretation of Barr’s summary?

Remember, Mueller wrote the letter back in March, but it just happened to hit WaPo and the Times on the eve of Barr’s testimony.
