Did we ever respect Jeff Flake? We faintly remember liking him a little bit, and then counting the days until he was out of office so he could pursue the inevitable contributor gig on TV (we thought for sure CNN or MSNBC would pick him up, but he landed at CBS News).
Conservatives dislike him for pulling stunts like holding up judicial confirmations; liberals dislike him for talking a good game against President Trump but never following through. But he just doesn’t seem to care, or he’s just that self-unaware.
As far as stunt guests go for Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez invited Ana Maria Archila, the woman who famously cornered Flake in an elevator and read him the riot act over his vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

And Flake? Why, he’s glad the woman who humiliated him on video will be there.
“I'm glad she's there. She had a real impact,” @JeffFlake says of @AOC's #SOTU guest — the activist who confronted him in an elevator during the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh https://t.co/aCCORfxw6v pic.twitter.com/q93vvxojja

What impact? Kavanaugh was confirmed … with the help of Flake.
But still Flake ended up voting for Kavanaugh!

Lol. He went ahead and voted for Kavanaugh after that woman’s crazy outburst

I can't see how her rant would make that great of an influence. He decided from the get go and used this as his excuse. Just my take.

Flake, how did you get this off track?

If you're saying that someone who had no idea about the facts of the nominee in question influenced you, then you acted improperly. Period. Fortunately, the harassing smears didn't work.

Is she going to rant and rave during the speech? I’ll bet Trump won’t let her get in any words like no guts Flake let her walk all over him in that elevator.

God Jeff Flake is useless.
