Cleveland radio station pulls 'Christmas date rape song' 'Baby It's Cold Outside'

As Twitchy reported earlier, it’s that time of year for hot takes on why the song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” should be banned as it doesn’t slot into the #MeToo movement.

One Cleveland radio station has made the news by pulling the song from rotation “after receiving a call from a listener who suggested it is inappropriate in 2018.”

Fox 8 reports that Star 102’s midday host said in an interview, “People might say, ‘oh, enough with that #MeToo,’ but if you really put that aside and listen to the lyrics, it’s not something I would want my daughter to be in that kind of a situation.”

Cleveland Rape Crisis Center President and CEO Sondra Miller said her organization supports the decision to pull the song.

Fox 8 adds that “a poll on the station’s Facebook page showed that among more than 600 votes by Thursday night, 92% of respondents favored playing the song while just 8% felt it was inappropriate.”
