Seeing as the story of celebrity lawyer and potential 2020 contender Michael Avenatti’s arrest on domestic violence charges originated at TMZ, maybe CNN wanted to be extra-careful about doing some fact-checking before running a story.
CNN did keep people waiting, though.
Remember when CNN and MSNBC had Avenatti on hundreds of times? https://t.co/TVLBWGqblx

#FLASHBACK: From March 7 to June 15, @CNN had @MichaelAvenatti on 82 times and 173 total cable news interviewshttps://t.co/sAJwUhKpiV

Dear CNN,
Maybe you should learn from this Avenatti situation and stop inviting people on your network hundreds of times when their only purpose is to draw attention to themselves and dunk on Trump.

When is CNN going to report on their boy Avenatti? Yikes
— Allie Beth Stuckey (@conservmillen) November 14, 2018
CNN still has not reported that Michael Avenatti, who is a regular guest on their network, has been arrested for felony domestic violence.
Fox News, the Associated Press, and multiple conservative publications have already reported it, but not CNN. pic.twitter.com/GPlM7fB7vd

Twitter style guide reminder: it’s “CNN Contributor and 2020 Democrat Presidential hopeful Micheal Avenatti”
— John Ekdahl (@JohnEkdahl) November 14, 2018
As of mid-June, Michael Avenatti had appeared on CNN 82 times.
That number is most likely well over 100 right now and CNN still has not reported on Avenatti's arrest for felony domestic violence. https://t.co/xmpaO5BYEi
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 14, 2018
I can’t find the Avenatti story anywhere on CNN’s homepage.
— Caleb Hull ???? (@CalebJHull) November 15, 2018
The Avenatti story (biggest story of the entire day) is not even on CNN’s homepage.
This tells you everything you need to know about their garbage site.

Nearly all news publications have published a report on Michael Avenatti being arrested for suspected felony domestic violence … except for CNN.
What's going on over there, @CNNPR? pic.twitter.com/hbFMxWJ3l7
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 15, 2018
Still no CNN story on Avenatti. I would love to know why they can't just report the arrest like everyone else.
— John Sexton (@verumserum) November 15, 2018
Is that a rhetorical question?
— Rich Weinstein (@phillyrich1) November 15, 2018
I always ask myself: What's the best case scenario here? In this case, they appear to be waiting to get his side before publishing anything. I think the reasons for that are pretty obvious. They made him.

BREAKING: CNN finally publishes a report on Michael Avenatti's arrest after nearly every other news organization in existence published reports over an hour ago. https://t.co/ZMfHK8Mwpk
— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) November 15, 2018
Breaking? Hours ago.
— Charles T. -Downtown (@crack_bass) November 15, 2018
Lol…what took you so long? @brianstelter boy has been reported by EVERY other news outlet. @acosta isn't the only news. This is why your ratings suck.
— Philly Special (@phillyspecial20) November 15, 2018
Why are you the last one to report this???? Fake news company
— gonecoastal (@gonecoastal22) November 15, 2018
? finally!! Did that hurt CNN?
— Christie Frazier (@christie_1391) November 15, 2018
Where is the panel of six? I want this discussed for days! ?
— ❌GW❌ (@GWConservative) November 15, 2018
Maybe change the tagline from “Facts First” to “Facts, Eventually”?
