Why is celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti asking for donations to Stacey Abrams?

We think celebrity porn lawyer Michael Avenatti is new to the whole online fundraising thing, seeing as his call for donations to help elect Beto O’Rourke in Texas mentioned only in the fine print that half the money donated would go into Avenatti’s own Fight PAC.

Now he’s raising money for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, most likely to boost his standing with Democrats for his 2020 presidential run. But wait … the campaign’s over. The election’s over. What’s the money for?
