We’ll never understand why Californians keep voting the way they do, apparently thinking more of the same will fix all their problems. But now Florida has a choice to make for governor between Democrat Andrew Gillum and Republican Ron DeSantis, and last we checked the two were neck-and-neck.
Dennis Miller has questions:
Candidly, a lot of times I ask fake questions on social media to wind up asshats but I'm asking this one non-ironically. Citizens of Florida…you have no state income tax but you might vote Gillum in because you want one? Why do you want one?
— Dennis Miller (@DennisDMZ) November 5, 2018
Good question.
To pay for the free stuff, duh! https://t.co/sXsHEAySxJ

Because, much like other invasive species, Florida has imported a ton of people from Jersey.

Because they miss New York income taxes

I know it’s difficult to comprehend but the libs that relocate from NY and NJ to avoid the high taxes that they supported in their home states just can’t help themselves. The people that will be affected most are the home grown Floridians that will pay dearly

Actually, if you want that state income tax, move to California, New York, New Jersey – they'd love to have you!
Leave Florida alone. https://t.co/HplPcjIhsd— Joe Tedeschi (@MDYankeefan1) November 5, 2018

The people who want higher taxes in FL are the ones who don't pay taxes.
— Curious Doubter (@bhaynes291) November 6, 2018
Because those voters do not pay taxes so they don’t care if there is a state income tax, they will never pay.
— Joe Kelly (@JoeKellyAtty) November 5, 2018
The voters that would be voting for Gillum would not be voting for an income tax.
The voters that vote for Gillum are wanting the BENEFITS that will come from everybody else paying a new FL income tax. https://t.co/bu6BaapOwe

Because it's not fair other military retirees have to pay income tax on their retirement in other states.
Not.

I stayed a Florida resident for my entire military career for that reason, I live in California and hate it. Taxation is theft.

This Floridian is very concerned about this issue. Voting DeSantis!
— Trish Deveaux (@TrDeveaux) November 5, 2018
WE DON'T WANT ONE! I can't believe the polls, to be honest.
— That Foot Is Me (@that_foot_is_me) November 5, 2018
For the life of me I cannot figure this out myself Mr. Miller. WTAF are people thinking?
I moved to Florida in 1996 to escape over taxation and shitty policies of the left.
Come on Floridians, don't let this happen! https://t.co/RWzk3gJywv

I will be watching the FL election closely. If Gilliam is elected, it will affect my decision to relocate there in the future. The tax structure will no longer be as favorable. Of course I live in CT. What can be worse than this state tax wise?
