As Twitchy reported, MSNBC’s Joy Reid opened her show Saturday morning with an apology for anti-gay and other posts archived on her old blog, and yet claimed, “I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things” and says the posts “are completely alien” to her.

What are “Things a Conservative could never be allowed to apologize for and stay employed,” Alex? https://t.co/JTW5kHTvRm

Not surprisingly, liberals who have reached back as far as high school yearbooks and college roommates to slam Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz were more than happy to accept Reid’s apology.
Take, for example, MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace posted a lovely tweet that we’re sure applies exclusively to liberals who’ve “evolved.”
Everyone of us will walk in @JoyAnnReid ‘s shoes some day – filled with remorse and regret over something we have said or done, but I predict that few will do so this eloquently. Sending support and admiration to you and your amazing panel and team @JoyAnnReid https://t.co/qV26Rcy6D9

Wait she's full of remorse for what she said? She says she doesn't think she said them. https://t.co/7k9PWS5S2r

“Eloquently.”
Oh, fer fucksake, she says she's sorry for things she says she didn't write, but might maybe have forgotten she wrote. It's not eloquent, it's nonsensical. She's inviting her fans to forgive her while denying just what a hateful homophobe she really was. https://t.co/2yAyA19tue

False. I'll never apologize for something I "genuinely believe" I didn't say. Never. https://t.co/a3QsIcJL4a

So, speaking of giving up witch trials in favor of forgiveness …

Well, so long as that's the new standard, sure. Will you be doing a special on Kevin D. Williamson soon? https://t.co/QReI0m7gjY
— Jazz Shaw (@JazzShaw) April 28, 2018
Silly … Williamson is pro-life and hasn’t “evolved” out of that position. It’s the blacklist for him.

Except for one difference. Sites like @MMFA would have already started the campaign to boycott advertisers if this was anyone with conservative leanings. An apology would not be acceptable. We witnessed the attempt with @IngrahamAngle because she criticized a tweet. https://t.co/5JqEgyaOCy
— Jay Caruso (@JayCaruso) April 28, 2018
We seem to recall Laura Ingraham apologizing for her tweet about David Hogg … it’s all good, then?
Sorry @NicolleDWallace,
I am not a racist homophobe, and have never used such vile rhetoric towards anyone. I will not ever walk in those shoes. We are always subject to the consequences of our actions, regardless of our remorse. She's sorry she got caught. https://t.co/BZuCBJcJQa— ?? Dr. Diane ????? (@elmorephd) April 28, 2018
Has anyone at MSNBC taken even a mildly critical stance? https://t.co/3xjM7lqI9O

As far as we know, no.
