There was some buzz after her speech at the Golden Globes in January that Oprah Winfrey might consider running for president, and as Twitchy has chronicled, CNN has done all it can to stretch that buzz all the way to 2020, it seems.
It was Jan. 9 that CNN’s Brian Stelter tweeted that Oprah was thinking about running — a conclusion he reached from the quote, “I don’t think at this point she is actually considering it.”
? @GayleKing confirms @Oprah is thinking about running: "I do think she's intrigued by the idea. I do think that… I don't think at this point she is actually considering it. But listen, there are people who've said they want to be her campaign manager…"

Jan. 25:
Reality: Next year Oprah might feel compelled to run, or she might not. No one knows. In her convos with friends — some of whom are urging her to run — she hasn't ruled it out. She acknowledged those convos to @laurabrown99 but also said, "I don't have the DNA for it…"

Now it’s Feb. 7, every other network has completely forgotten the story, and CNN once again is reporting that Oprah isn’t running.

CNN’s source? This tweet:
You heard it here first: Oprah just confirmed at her live chat with Lin Manuel Miranda at #SuperSoulConversations in NYC that she is NOT running for office. #Oprah2020

That’s N-O-T in all capitals, CNN. Still, the network had to pad out its report with something:
However, Winfrey said in an interview with InStyle Magazine that she didn’t intend to run.
“I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not,” she told the magazine. “And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it.”
Winfrey has repeatedly said in the past that she has no plans to run for office.
She told Stephen Colbert in January 2017 that she would “never” run for political office.
So … there’s a chance?
CNN is going to keep running articles about Oprah running for president until 2084. No one wants her to run more than they do. https://t.co/tlr9jIcDO7
