Alec Baldwin suspends tweeting after criticizing Rose McGowan for 'delaying justice' by settling

For some reason, PBS NewsHour had Alec Baldwin on Friday to comment on Harvey Weinstein and Hollywood’s culture of “open secrets” when it comes to sexual harassment.

Jezebel reports that Baldwin acknowledged in the interview that everyone had heard “for decades” the rumor that Weinstein had raped actress Rose McGowan, adding that “nothing was done.”

However, he also got himself into hot water with the #MeToo crowd and #ROSEARMY by adding, “What happened was Rose McGowan took a payment of $100,000 and settled her case with him. It was for Rose McGowan to prosecute that case.”

Baldwin apparently took note of the backlash and announced that he’d be suspending his Twitter account due to the “current climate.”

How soon until Baldwin is back online? Celebrities quit Twitter like they move to Canada when their candidate loses.
