The fact that Harvey Weinstein was a sexual predator was reportedly the biggest open secret in Hollywood — and on Tuesday night, the Washington Post broke what is probably one of the biggest open secrets of the 2016 campaign: that the Hillary Clinton campaign was in part behind the infamous “pee tape” dossier that the Russians had supposedly compiled on Donald Trump.

Remember? This was the 35-page dossier of supposed Russian intel that BuzzFeed News eventually printed after it had been shopped around to (and passed over by) by just about every other news outlet?
The Washington Post reports:
The Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund research that resulted in a now-famous dossier containing allegations about President Trump’s connections to Russia and possible coordination between his campaign and the Kremlin, people familiar with the matter said.
Marc E. Elias, a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC, retained Fusion GPS, a Washington firm, to conduct the research.
After that, Fusion GPS hired dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer with ties to the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community, according to those people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
It’s not a shocker of a report, but it’s nice to finally see in print what most everyone suspected. Cue the “sad trombone” sting for everyone counting on the release of the “pee pee tapes” to bring down the administration.
Everyone pretty much knew already, but now confirmed that Hillary and DNC paid to continue Russia dossier research. https://t.co/q5UOqVlCE1

That sound you hear is the so-called Russia dossier crashing and bursting into flames. There is zero chance it will ever be used against Trump now. https://t.co/uum6vKfMhZ

Collusion. Dossier of Russian-generated dirt on @realDonaldTrump was paid for by @HillaryClinton & funneled thru Comey. Priceless.

There's more evidence of Hillary colluding with Russia than there is of Trump doing so https://t.co/QjPrNg5xI9

So the whole Russia conspiracy theory was paid for by @HillaryClinton & @TheDemocrats — plus a Republican — & amplified by the liberal media

Clinton campaign/DNC funding "research" for dossier, did FBI use it to obtain warrant in FISA ct to spy on DJT team? https://t.co/tJx6pabOR1 pic.twitter.com/VRJzhhsJC7

If it is proven that the FBI mislead the FISA ct in order to obtain warrant using FusionGPS "research", then how can Mueller probe continue? https://t.co/pbOwZNhETR

So how much money did the Clinton campaign and DNC… er, piss away on the dossier?

The good news for whomever inside the Clinton campaign paid for the pee dossier is that she lost and they won't be Vince Fostered over it.
