The United States had an international incident on its hands this week after news broke that U.S. swimmers Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger were nabbed by Brazilian authorities for questioning just as they were about to take off from Rio de Janeiro International Airport for a return flight to the United States.
Ryan Lochte was considerably luckier and made it back to American soil without incident, about the same time as security video began to circulate of the armed robbery that wasn’t. Bentz and Conger were allowed to leave Brazil after questioning by police, and thanks to Reuters, YOU WERE THERE.

Board flight AA990 … with their curtain? As exciting as that sounds — almost as thrilling as a photo of two guys buckled into their airplane seats — we’ll pass. What was wrong with the first headline?

There you go: a curtain comes down on gold medal glory. Because they were sleeping behind a privacy curtain, get it?

An EXCLUSIVE picture of a curtain. You have to wonder if the Reuters photographer was already booked on that flight or had to buy a ticket to score that riveting photo.
To be fair, they got an exclusive quote: "I can't, I'm sorry, I can't," Conger, 21, told a Reuters reporter https://t.co/y0ypgWAvtI

Reuters managed to score a ton of exclusives: where else have you heard that airline staff “slipped trays of cheese omelets, croissants and fruit through a small gap in the curtain.”
