The editors at the New York Daily News have really stepped up their game against Donald Trump. From the day of his announcement, the newspaper had branded him a clown, and when he won the New Hampshire primary, the paper blamed the resurrection of the “dead clown walking” on the “mindless zombies” who cast their votes for him.
The mixed metaphor of zombies resurrecting a dead clown didn’t leave a lot of growing room, so it’s fortunate that Pope Francis spoke out on Trump’s professed Christianity, giving the Daily News license to label Trump the anti-Christ.
