As Twitchy reported, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker held a very brief press conference this afternoon to announce that he was suspending his presidential campaign. Walker told reporters he was trying to help “clear the field” of GOP candidates and encouraged others to follow his lead. Left unsaid: Who is it Walker thinks should follow his lead, and who would he like to stay and fight it out until the end?
Shorter Walker: I’m taking one for the team to prevent the horror of a Trump nomination. Others should join me.

Scott Walker said he's been “called to lead by helping to clear the field.” Which is exactly the sort of leadership the GOP needs right now.

Marco Rubio had a kind word for his former competitor.
Republicans are lucky to have Scott on our team, and I wish the best to him and his family.
