Independent socialist Bernie Sanders to run for president as — shocker! — a Democrat

Word on Vermont Public Radio is that Sen. Bernie Sanders, who had teased a decision on his presidential intentions by the end of the month, will announce Thursday that he is seeking the White House as a Democrat. The announcement brought some interest to the Democratic primary, which so far has consisted of little more than Hillary Clinton seemingly hoping to dodge all questions until the election.

Bernie Sanders, Vermont socialist, is running for president. Will the media take him seriously–just to have a semblance of a race?
