After having Monday off for Presidents Day, many government workers had Tuesday off as well as Washington, D.C. was placed under a snow emergency. Don Lemon and the CNN Blizzardmobile were nowhere to be found, but the District Department of Transportation was able to secure photos of the tundra-like conditions in D.C. this afternoon.

“Emily Gets Her Gun” author and investigative reporter Emily Miller wasn’t impressed.
Good thing the federal government is closed in DC today. Someone might have gotten a wet pant cuff. pic.twitter.com/Hcl25e4bbF

@EmilyMiller I reckon they can learn to wear boots like the rest of us do in the winter. Truth is, we’re better off when they stay home.

@EmilyMiller Knowing the Federal Gov't is closed today brings me an odd sense of peace and tranquility.

Heroic Pret-a-Manger still open, despite SNOW EMERGENCY.

Fox News’ James Rosen called the snow emergency bogus, but was thankful it kept his kids home from a day of Common Core.
DC's bogus "snow emergency": At 4 pm ET, watch me go all Howard Beale on @TeamCavuto, parking tickets, Common Core, Congress, and K Street.
— James Rosen (@JamesRosenTV) February 17, 2015
@JamesRosenFNC @TeamCavuto I shut my office down once. Actual Temp was -52*. I called my CARDIAC REHAB patients, told them to stay home. ?

Rep. Jason Chaffetz made headlines with his tweet from last night.
Wimps. Snowing in DC and they close the government. Imagine if the rest of the country closed when it snowed.
— Jason Chaffetz (@jasoninthehouse) February 17, 2015
The snow emergency was lifted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, and the most damage appears to have been done to people’s wallets.
132 vehicles ticketed and towed during snow emergency declaration.

Calling all cabs, calling all cabs: Stop charging that $15 fee, now! DC snow emergency fee ended at 2:00. @wusa9

More evidence that DC is a RICO enterprise: sun is out, roads clear, no traffic, yet DC mob is **towing cars** from "snow emergency routes!"
— Tom Diaz (@agknowitall) February 17, 2015
So relieved. DC Snow Emergency has been lifted.
