As those two tweets from Ebony senior digital editor Jamilah Lemieux suggest, police certainly aren’t being given the benefit of the doubt these days. Those still working on their conspiracy theories about the early morning fatal shooting of Antonio Martin by police in Berkeley, Mo., unfortunately have another “case” to investigate today: the shooting of a robbery suspect in Washington, D.C.

WUSA9 reporter Mola Lenghi has an overall timeline of the incident.

That was the first of two police shootings in D.C. today; WUSA reports on another shooting that followed an alleged carjacking:

D.C. police say an officer shot a carjacking suspect Wednesday night in Northeast Washington.

It happened around 5:26 p.m. in the 2200 block of 15th St.. Police said the suspect opened fire on police, and officers then returned fire.

Police described the suspect’s condition as “conscious and breathing.”

Here’s a condensed version of the first incident.
