Chicago Bull Derrick Rose warms up in 'I Can't Breathe' T-shirt

When several St. Louis Rams entered the field Nov. 30 making the “hands up, don’t shoot” gesture, they likely had no idea just how much of a controversy their actions would ignite. Police wanted an apology, while those sympathetic to Michael Brown tweeted that “all hell would break loose” if the players were fined by the NFL. Others just didn’t want politics mixed with their sports.

Chicago Bull Derrick Rose made a quiet solo statement on the death of Eric Garner today by wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt as his warm-up gear. Judging by Twitter reaction, Rose won a great deal of respect from NBA fans.
