Twitchy reported earlier today on the nationwide #HandsUpWalkOut Ferguson protest targeted toward students and workers. From photos posted to social media, university students seem to have been most likely to walk out of class in protest, although at least one tweet cited an elementary school that participated, and activist Shaun King was proud to give his 12-year-old permission to walk out of middle school.
It’s no surprise, then, to see the American Federation of Teachers proudly joining in the protest and, unlike Michael Brown, holding their hands up.

Walk out — if you teach at a public school it looks like the union has your back.
