Venezuela's Nicolás Maduro honors himself on first anniversary of election

Hope and change? Nope; in Venezuela it’s all about faith and optimism.

To mark his first full year in office, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been celebrating by tweeting in support of … himself. In the poster above he claims that “together, we are all Chávez” and warns that he who messes with Chávez messes with the neighborhood.

He also pulled CNN’s press credentials, calling the network’s coverage of the ongoing unrest in Venezuela “war propaganda.” And he created a Vice Ministry of Supreme Social Happiness, because socialism.
