What’s so funny? BuzzFeed’s Rosie Gray has stumbled upon some “incredible scoopage” from website Animal New York.

Yes, that’s the incredible scoopage. Animal has uncovered that George W. Bush’s 30 paintings of world leaders were sourced from photographs easily found through a Google search — often, the first photo that popped up.

Nothingburger? You clearly don’t understand the extent of the scandal here. Critic, artist and appropriation expert Greg Allen told Animal, “Many photos were taken from the subject’s Wikipedia entry. Bush based his paintings on the literally first-to-surface, easiest-to-find photos of his subjects.”
