Many on Twitter are reporting that WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app for smartphones, is down today. Facebook recently purchased WhatsApp for $19 billion.
So, is this a distributed denial of service attack, or is WhatsApp a victim of its own popularity, as millions sign up for the service every day?
A large scale DDOS on @Whatsapp is the most feasible explanation for the prolonged downtime especially after last weeks 400gbps attack

#ddos attack at @WhatsApp servers? Just few days after been bought by fb? It's a matter of share price.

WhatsApp is down.
Is a DDoS attack or Facebook interference?
Meanwhile people are changing to Viber… maybe they won't come back…
