Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly found herself embroiled in controversy after declaring on cable television that Santa Claus is … a white man. The remark was made in response to a piece in Slate in which Aisha Harris suggested that the traditional, melanin-deficient Santa be retired and replaced by a penguin.
I will not watch @megynkelly. I will not watch @megynkelly. I will not watch @megynkelly. I will not watch @megynkelly. I will not watch

The comment caused such a backlash that Kelly addressed it on “The Kelly File” Friday night. Race cop Joan Walsh likely missed the broadcast, so here’s video of the segment.
So, was it just a tongue-in-cheek comment, or is the firestorm far from over? Plenty had already lined up to pile on.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly has declared that both Santa & Jesus are white and MUST REMAIN WHITE. Glad that's cleared up. #HappyHolidays

Dear @MegynKelly,
Santa is not real and Jesus was not white.
Sincerely,

.@megynkelly Ok. Let me get this straight. You're saying Jesus and Santa are white. What about Lando Calrissian? He's still black, right?

I don't recall anyone on @megynkelly's panel laughing or her saying, "oh, I'm joking." She should still do a panel on the power of images.

Will Kelly be forgiven, or should she expect a lump of coal in her stocking this Christmas?
