Check and mate. The choices of the Nobel committee have been ridiculous for some time now, and the increasing politicization of the prizes hasn’t escaped the notice of chess champion and Human Rights Foundation chair Garry Kasparov.
No disrespect to the many remarkable winners, of course. Many great causes & brave people on those award lists. But very political lately.

No, I would not be so bold to turn down the award myself I admit. Recognition for cause is important. Would look nice with chess trophies!
