@chrissyteigen what did barilla do or not do?
— Uwaine (@Uwaine) September 26, 2013
Good question. In case you hadn’t heard, Barilla Group chairman Guido Barilla said in an Italian radio interview Wednesday that the world’s largest pasta company had no plans to feature same-sex families in its advertising — “not for lack of respect toward homosexuals, who have the right to do whatever they want without disturbing others,” he explained, “but because I don’t agree with them and I think we want to talk to traditional families.”

Barilla’s comments about the “the sacral family” were reminiscent of Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s plea of “guilty as charged” to believing in the “biblical definition of the family unit.” That remark led to a boycott that eventually led to a massive “buycott.” As Teigen says, though, pasta is a lot easier to replace than a delicious Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich.
A boycott was sadly inevitable; the only question is who can come up with the most clever way of calling for one.
#Barilla I noticed that most of your pastas aren't straight – Campanelle, Farfalle, Gemelli, etc. You may want to look into that. #boycott

Based on his remarks against gays, (Guido) #Barilla's pasta just came out of the closet, my pantry closet. #boycott

Lame. Maybe we’d better leave the boycott tweets to the professional (model).
Barilla has a right to believe whatever they want. And I have the right to boycott them or fully fund a gay porn made in a tub of linguine
