Just hours after actor John Cusack declared it “sick” that there are progressives defending the NSA and its surveillance programs, Mia Farrow stepped forward and urged Americans to “chill.” After all, credit card companies have been collecting personal data for years. Plenty of followers were quick to point out a crucial error in that analogy, though: citizens make the choice to sign up for and use a credit card.
@MiaFarrow but it’s only our financial data, we opt into the program and the worst these companies can do is ruining your credit score.

@MiaFarrow does American Express have drones? Can Visa send Seal Team Six to shoot you in the head? No? Not really the same then, is it?

@MiaFarrow I don't remember AmEx, Visa having an army, or law enforcement wings. Gov't has unique ability to harm lives.

@MiaFarrow AmEx, Facebook, Twitter cannot put me is a prison cell, naked, abused, etc.

.@MiaFarrow Thing is, I trust @AmericanExpress more than I do my government. And I choose not to leave home w/o my (beloved) card. A friend.

@MiaFarrow @RockDocInLV hahaha this "So what" would be "WTF" if same thing was done by #Bush🙂#LameObamaLoyalists

One more reason to chill: Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who recently apologized for lying to Congress about NSA surveillance, has been appointed to oversee the formation of an “independent” review board.

@MiaFarrow lol that's like asking give me one example when the thief misused the stolen stuff- Sure if you can catch him:)
— Sombre Chevalier (@imfilmmaker) August 17, 2013
What difference, at this point, does it make what information the NSA is collecting or what the agency is doing with it? But consider just how quickly evil capitalist corporation American Express acted on the information it collected from Twitter. Creepy, huh?
@bonnevivante @MiaFarrow We appreciate the love, and the fact that you always take us with you. Thx! ^MB
