Female DNA found on Boston bomb fragment gives hope to 'Free Jahar' crowd

Earlier today, CBS News reported that tests of bomb fragments recovered from the Boston Marathon bombing site showed traces of female DNA. FBI agents do not consider Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s widow, Katherine Russell, a suspect in the bombings, but they did meet with her today to collect a DNA sample. Authorities caution, though, that the DNA could simply have been that of a store clerk or marathon spectator, and it’s too early to jump to conclusions.

That warning hasn’t stopped supporters of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev from jumping up and down with excitement, certain that the find brings them one step closer to seeing “Jahar” exonerated.
