Bill Barr denies Jamie Raskin's claim Joe Biden was cleared of alleged bribery scheme

You won’t hear anything about it in the mainstream media, but this whole business of President Joe Biden accepting bribes from foreign nationals while he was vice president isn’t going away just yet. As you know, House Oversight Republicans subpoenaed a document allegedly outlining the bribery scheme; FBI Director Chris Wray countered with this offer: I’ll let you review the document, but you can’t have it.

In fact, after leaving a hearing with the FBI on Monday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said the FBI is afraid their informant will be killed if unmasked, based on the info he has brought forward about the Biden family.

Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin was also at the hearing and 100 percent stands by what he heard an FBI agent tell him.

The Federalist, however, reports that Raskin lied about the probe being shut down in a press conference following the hearing:

“If there is a complaint, it is with Attorney General William Barr, the Trump Justice Department, and the team that the Trump administration appointed to look into it,” Raskin said. What does Barr have to say about that?

Margot Cleveland writes for The Federalist:

It’s not true. It wasn’t closed down,” William Barr told The Federalist on Tuesday in response to Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin’s claim that the former attorney general and his “handpicked prosecutor” had ended an investigation into a confidential human source’s allegation that Joe Biden had agreed to a $5 million bribe. “On the contrary,” Barr stressed, “it was sent to Delaware for further investigation.”

Former Attorney General Barr went on the record with The Federalist following statements Raskin made to the press Monday afternoon. Soon after attending a closed-door meeting with House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer and the FBI — at which lawmakers reviewed the FD-1023 form summarizing a CHS’s detailed allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden agreed to accept money from a foreign national to affect policy decisions — Raskin spoke to the media.
