MSNBC's Nicole Wallace and Chasten Buttigieg discuss that poor girl's poem being banned

Yesterday, Amanda Gorman posted a statement to Twitter saying she was “gutted” that the poem she read at Joe Biden’s inauguration, “The Hill We Climb,” had been banned from an elementary school in Florida. Journalism being what it is today, media outlets ran with Gorman’s statement as fact — she said it was banned, so obviously it had been banned. CNN ace journalist Abby D. Phillip retweeted the statement with the text, “Amanda Gorman responds to her poem being banned by a Florida school because of one parent’s complaint.” USA TODAY reprinted the banned poem. This is just like when a bunch of reporters said that Elon Musk was “totally blocking links” to unflattering stories … and it turned out the NPR reporter had just pasted in the wrong link.

And Amanda Gorman’s poem wasn’t banned. It was moved from the elementary school section of the library to the middle school section of the exact same library. We knew this before 11 a.m. And yet MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace led off her show discussing the ban.

“BREAKING NEWS: Amanda Gorman’s Inaugural Poem Banned in Florida School.”

And the mainstream media is butthurt that Ron DeSantis chose to bypass them and announce his candidacy on Twitter. They all cry about “disinformation” being the biggest threat to democracy and, like Barack Obama, long for the days when there were only three broadcast network anchors (like Dan Rather) you could trust to tell you the truth.
