Honest question: Is it still Pride Month? This editor thought we already celebrated that, but maybe not.
It continually falls on deaf ears when conservatives say they had no problem with the LGBTQ community until they got the kids involved. We’ve written several posts on Pride festivals, many of them sponsored by their communities, that offer such things as “drag camp” for little kids. And then again there was the “family-friendly” dildo ring toss:

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ fascist regime has blown a chill through the LGBTQ community in Florida, ever since he started snatching away liquor licenses from venues that allowed children into sexually explicit drag shows.
Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast has canceled the parade portion of Pridefest in Port St. Lucie when it was concluded they couldn’t keep children from seeing it. They wrote on Facebook:
In a Facebook post the group stated:
“As all of you know, the political climate that we are currently in has us all very concerned for our community. After multiple meetings with city officials, it is with a heavy heart that Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast has to announce that this weekend’s Pridefest will now be a 21 and older event.
“The city has decided that with the likelihood that the Governor will sign the latest bill into effect this evening, that we will need to be on the side of caution and has required us to make this necessary change. We are obviously upset and dishearten[ed] that it has come to this. We also regret to announce that we will have to cancel our plans to bring back our beloved parade.”
It is with a heavy heart that they announced that Pridefest will be a 21 and older event. That’s very upsetting and disheartening.

This happened where I live, they said no nudity or sexual explicit props for the pride parade, the group organizers got mad and canceled it.

San Francisco’s Pride parade is something really special.

Is it so hard to keep something “family-friendly,” or do those words just sound like gibberish to them?
I imagine the parade organisers were well aware the likelihood of some of the parade-goers taking their kids along anyway just to "spite the transphobes" or something and landing the parade organisers with a massive fine.
