Pallets of cash? General predicts the US will be able to get remaining Americans out of Afghanistan in the 'diplomatic sequel' to the war

General Kenneth McKenzie officially announced the end of the war in Afghanistan Monday afternoon, with the last flights leaving just before the Taliban’s deadline. There are sure to be plenty of bold headlines announcing that America’s forever war is over at last under President Biden’s guidance, but there is that pesky detail of hundreds of Americans who couldn’t make it to the airport.

McKenzie, however, did suggest that America would be moving from the military occupation phase to the “diplomatic sequel.”

Because now we have diplomatic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. And we have Antony Blinken’s State Department doing the negotiations.
