What in God’s name is going on with Burger King?
Back in January, the fast-food chain produced a laughably bad video opposing the rollback of net neutrality rules, and now they’re getting political again with a video supporting … Rep. Jackie Speier’s Pink Tax Repeal Act?
“Women get hit with a double whammy: They make less for doing the same work and they pay more for the same product or service because it’s for women,” Rep. Speier said in a press release on “Equal Pay Day” back in April. “Whether it’s a pink teddy bear, deodorant from the same manufacturer, or a white laundered shirt, it’s time to say enough! Discrimination is illegal.”
Why Burger King decided to make an ad for its chicken fries based on Speier’s bill we’ll never know, but here it is:
we all pay the price when women are charged more. that’s why we dropped the price of chicken fries to $1.69 for everyone. pic.twitter.com/0h3CtaxPaR

This is an embarrassingly bad commercial. Fast food & woke feminism don’t mix. pic.twitter.com/xLa9gJy9QQ

Well its good if what they wanted was for me to never go there again, because they succeeded if that was the outcome they wanted.

The reason I eat at their stupid place is because I'm in a rush and the food is decent enough, and I get it quickly. I don't have the time or energy for a fucking SJW lecture. Now, I think I drive right on by.

I love Burger King but I'm not going there now

— Rhys (@RhysWortham) July 28, 2018
You're gonna get burned so bad for this.
— Boomstick (@TTBL22) July 28, 2018
This may as well have been an ad for @ChickfilA. LOL. Wow.

…and just like that, our share prices dropped like a stone. pic.twitter.com/zqoL0GV1eR

This makes no sense. Stop trying to appeal to feminists and just sell us burgers.
— Brandon C. Hines (@LearningthePath) July 28, 2018
Maybe instead of junk politics. You should focus on making food that is edible.
— T’PAARTOS! (@tet4383) July 28, 2018
This is bad. Next we’ll have gender fluid fries.
— cvnerve (@cvnerve) July 28, 2018
Watch me cause a stink cause they assumed my gender at the counter 😂

Burger King has locations in Saudi Arabia so I'm really looking forward to seeing how they will unveil their progressive agenda in cultures where it's not economically advantageous to do so
— Matt (@MatthewGalanty) July 28, 2018
You know the social justice lunatics you're trying to appease don't run out to buy any of the products they claim, much less fast food meat. https://t.co/O6zXglHDnz

Where do women pay more than men? Razor blades? Where? I've lived in the States for years and nowhere did I see items that were priced for each gender. Everything cost the same for everyone. Your marketing team must be on acid or extremely stupid.
— Tere Sammallahti (@TereSammallahti) July 28, 2018
Ladies, you can buy mens razors!! It might be a shock, but nobody is forcing you to buy from the women’s section. Same goes for literally everything else.

"The wage gap is simply the average earnings of men and women working full time. It does not count for different job positions, hours worked or different jobs. It has nothing to do with the same job. It has nothing to do with discrimination." Same goes for the Pink Tax. Stop it. pic.twitter.com/ai63c78gFO

Wow BK let SJWs take over their marketing for virtue signaling 😂 this is awful pic.twitter.com/l4tWl7VgaZ

Appealing to the 3% of Americans that are hardcore feminists instead of the 97% of Americans that are sick of this crap. Brilliant marketing strategy! I wonder which demographic your marketing manager is in? I'd guess the 3%.
— Lee Runestad (@Lee_Runestad) July 28, 2018
If you're going to pander to a false identity political narrative, at least have the stones to commit to it completely. Change your name to Burger Queen, charge men twice as much and keep listening to your "woke" interns. Fighting a tax that doesn't exist = genius marketing.
