KISS singer Paul Stanley has shared his somewhat surprising perspective on the transgender phenomenon that seems to be sweeping the country:

We find it surprising because as a general rule the entertainment industry seems to be all-in on encouraging children to ‘change’ their sex simply because they may exhibit tendencies inconsistent with traditional male/female behavior.
It’s a thoughtful post, and it clearly comes from a place of compassion. Stanley acknowledges that there are some people (ADULT people) who may feel that reassignment is their only option for a happy life, while at the same time noting that kids are not capable of making such life-altering decisions and that their parents have a responsibility to treat them as, you know, kids.
Naturally, some folks decided to look right past the tone and point of Stanley’s message and move right on into smearing Stanley as a transphobe:
