Bette Midler encourages people to vote on behalf of "people with uteri"

Bette Midler has the following message on behalf of “people with uteri”:

People with uteri need all of you to get out & vote. And people with uteri should vote too! Because you shouldn't have to have be one of #HerschelWalkergirlfriends to get access to reproductive health care.

We’re old enough to remember when there was a word that neatly summed up this phrase. Apparently quite a few people on Twitter are too:

They are called women, Bette. You used to pretend to care about their causes.

There used to be a word. Wumben? Wimpound?

LOL. The word that you're looking for is "women."

Ahhh, there it is. Women. As in:

Everything else aside, what is so offensive about the term “woman” that Bette Midler can’t even speak it?

Bit of a change from a few months ago:

And let’s not forget these women, who are understandably upset about how Bette chose to phrase the tweet:

Bette you're a women, I'm a woman, we're not ppl with uteri. Some women have to have their uterus removed. You have rendered your message meaningless as ppl are trying to figure out what you mean. Those pushing this gender nonsense are taking away women's rights. It's regressive

— Lesley F (@Dinobun1) October 29, 2022

Do you mean that women who've had a hysterectomy should just stay home & not bother voting…?? (See how offensive this 'inclusive' language is?) 🙄

— Josephine Liptrott (@Jo_Liptrott) October 29, 2022

I was just going to ask that very question, Josephine. Am I now powerless since having my uterus removed? Nobody warned me about that!

One last thing:

How dare you presume and call them girlfriends… they are clearly PEOPLE WITH UTERI FRIENDS

— Five Times August (@FiveTimesAugust) October 29, 2022

That is pretty presumptious, come to think of it, Bette.
