The Unbreakable Bond of Motherhood: Choosing Family Over Political Divisions

Grok AI

This past weekend, my eldest and I took a short trip to Kansas to visit a college. We flew from Milwaukee to Kansas City, via Minneapolis.

On the second leg of the flight we were seated in front of a younger mom and her son, a boy of about three or four years old. I remember when my eldest was that little; it seems like a heartbeat ago.

And now he's on the cusp of graduating and going to school in a different state to pursue his dreams and continue growing into the fine man I know he'll be.

He's at the age where he doesn't always need me. He drives his own car, has a part-time job, and is probably a little too mature for his age. He's incredibly responsible, funny, caring and smart. I have no doubt he'll thrive.

But there was a moment on the flight, when we touched down in Kansas City, that he grabbed my hand in anticipation of a rough landing (it's our least favorite part of flying, that landing). So he needs me for those little things, and that makes me smile.

The last several years have had their share of ups and downs, the downs were big ones. I got divorced, and he had to grow up faster than most of his peers (which probably explains the maturity). He rose to the occasion time and again. And so have his younger brothers -- no more so than when their father died in January. They conducted themselves with grace, wit, humor, and compassion that day and every day after.

Since the moment they were born, I have been able to watch them blossom into smart, clever, decent young men and I could not be more proud of them.

But I am still their mom, and no matter how old they get or where we move, I will be their mom. And woe to anyone who harms them.

Which is why I can't fathom the absolute callousness of women like this:

There really are no words to describe how abhorrent this is.

I will crawl across broken glass and hot coals to protect my children and I would never -- ever -- let political differences divide us. I think back on all the good times we've had (those far outweigh the bad), and all the good times we've yet to share.

I can't imagine throwing that all away because I don't like who they voted for. It is mind-boggling.

This woman, whoever she is, is a s**tty mother and an even s**ttier person.

Yeah, I said it.

There are circumstances under which disassociating with family are appropriate, like abuse. But political differences?

Puh-leez.

This falls directly on the media and the Democratic Party, who have spent a decade saying Donald Trump is literally Hitler, a threat to democracy and our freedoms. There are people who believe this, because Twitchy writes about them a lot. Earlier today, I told you how women are cheering the idea of poisoning their husbands.

Because Donald Trump won an election.

Think about how utterly insane and unspeakably evil that is. Or how broken our body politic has become.

No politician these women support will be there as they get older, to comfort them in their old age and hold their hands as they pass. Nor will these politicians mourn when they die. They'll move on to the next voting bloc without shedding a single tear.

But these women are throwing away their families for those politicians who could not care less about them.

Not only do they do this, they have to make a spectacle of doing it. It's the ultimate virtue signal: she's disavowing her sons because of her politics and expects to be applauded for it. Those women are glorifying Giula Tofana for poisoning her spouse, and they want women to nod and say, 'Slay, KWEEN!'

Literally.

And they think they're the good guys here. They're not.
