Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has activated the state’s National Guard to help with the volatile situation in Milwaukee.

Walker also contributed to “Support the Blue Day” as part of an expression of gratitude to the law enforcement officials who put their lives on the line to provide safer communities.

This comes on the heels of a night when parts of Milwaukee were described as “like a war zone.” Violent protests ensued after police shot a reportedly armed suspect.
