A local Syrian media source tweeted this out on Sunday (Reminder: Middle East sources are notoriously unreliable and often get reports wrong):

These reports, however, led to speculation from media, intelligence and others about this possible raid:
#pt: Local sources say U.S. Special Forces took #ISIS corpses away onboard aircraft used over eastern #Syria today:https://t.co/oKV0Ald6YZ

#pt: Other local sources suggest U.S Special Forces also captured alive #ISIS prisoners, from Deir ez Zour, #Syria:https://t.co/9VaMwt1fpB

Reports of a US special forces raid on IS in Deir Ezzor. Came by air killed & captured multiple IS members. Most likely high value targets.

PT: Deir Ezzor is viewed as IS's fallback strategy. Once Mosul & Raqqa are taken, this will be their base of operations. Many leaders there.

Interesting thread about reported secret raid by coalition forces deep inside #ISIS territory in #Syria's Deir Ezzor province https://t.co/7Edb0vw2yT

Very interesting if true. The last US raid in #Syria was against Abdurrahman al-Qaduli (Abu Ali al-Anbari), the caliph's deputy, in March. https://t.co/6MuHIle0yM

Now that is interesting. Maybe a hostage rescue in eastern #Syria rather than a raid against an #IS leader. https://t.co/eM63njnUMc

There has been no confirmation from U.S. Military sources about any raid. We will update the post if any more details come to our attention.
