It’s been a horrible day for controlling, power-hungry, exclusionary legacy media outlets and a wonderful day for the expansion of independent press access to the White House. I’m loving it! The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA), which is an unelected group of legacy media outlets that gatekeep White House media access, will no longer pick and choose which news outlets get in the door. The ‘journalistic’ oligarchy has been stripped of its power. Again, I’m loving it! The White House will now determine access which means outlets that have never had the privilege of covering the White House from the inside will now get that chance.
Eugene Daniels of Politico, who is president of the WHCA, lashed out in a post on X today (more on that later). He also announced that he was leaving Politico and heading to the dumpster fire that is MSNBC where he'll host a roundtable show. Can this day get any better? Like all ‘journalists,’ Daniels has a penchant for lying. Here’s a flashback to when it was discovered Politico was on the receiving end of millions of U.S. government dollars through USAID.

On Feb 7, WH Correspondents Assoc President Eugene Daniels, who is also Politico’s WH correspondent — — claimed that DOGE and the Trump admin had not shown any "evidence of all this abuse” at USAID.
The revelation that Politico received funding from USAID was made on Feb 5, two days before this episode aired — along with a flood of other discoveries about the misuse of taxpayer dollars by the organization.
Aside from the glaring omission that Politico received taxpayer funding via USAID, Daniels’ claim about a lack of evidence is patently untrue.
A regular on PBS’ “Washington Week with The Atlantic,” Daniels is a partisan Democrat activist masquerading as a journalist.
It was announced by Karoline Leavitt today that the WHCA will no longer control which media outlets are represented in WH briefings.
Excellent move.

Anyway, I guess Karoline Leavitt rattling off multiple abuses in front of the press doesn’t count to this fraud.
Oddly enough, he’s the first I’ve heard actually attempt to deny the abuse, instead of just moaning about who’s uncovering it.

You can’t make it up.
President Donald Trump has recognized that the present and future of news media no longer rests in the greedy, partisan hands of CNN, ABC News, The New York Times, and the rest of the legacy media. Kicking the WHCA off its crumbling pedestal was needed to expand access to the White House and embrace the new media reality. I’ve been waiting for this day for years. Trump delivered and ‘journalists’ are furious. Good.
