The DNC Arena Is Selling Chick-Fil-A, And After Four Days The Delegates Are Caving

The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, the site of the Democratic National Convention, has been selling Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches at its concession stands all week.

This was much to the ire of liberal attendees, who have tried to boycott the food for days because of the anti-gay marriage stance of its founder S. Truett Cathy.

Daily Caller reporters at the convention spoke to one delegate, a member of the LGBT caucus, who said that “gay people and straight people and our allies” were “not happy about it.”

“That was just really disappointing,” Bernie Sanders delegate Joe Sacco told the Daily Caller. “I would hope that the DNC would be more sensitive in the future to the LGBT community.”

But a few days later, Independent Journal Review reported that some delegates are finally caving and eating the sandwiches…and not hating the experience!

“After trying a bite off someone else’s sandwich, [Marshall] Bennett says the temptation was just too strong to resist: ‘I caved not only because it’s cheap, but because I had a bite of somebody else’s and I missed it so much,’” IJ Review reported.

Sanders supporter Katie Sorensen told IJ Review that she knows Chick-Fil-A is a good company, even if she disagrees with the (now-dead) founder’s views.

“Despite the fact that I very much disagree with Chick-fil-A’s public position on things like LGBTQ rights, I do support the fact that they do treat their workers incredibly well, and that’s something that you don’t see a lot in the fast food industry.”
