Whoa. Did Sen. Ted Cruz just do a 180-degree switcheroo and vote for cloture on the bill to defund Obamacare? A lot of people (including some well-known liberal bloggers and several journalists for MSM outlets) seem to think so:
By Ted Cruz's own logic, he just voted to fund Obamacare. Glad to see he saw the light!

Ted Cruz just voted for cloture on his own fake filibuster. Is there anyone still clinging to the idea that he's bound by logic?

Let's get this straight: Cruz railed against voting to take up the House-passed CR, which defunds Obamacare. But then votes to do just that.

Mike Lee and Ted Cruz have now BOTH voted *for* cloture on the bill they spent 21 hours "fillibustering."

There is zero suspense about this cloture vote. Cruz will be lucky to get 20 Republican "no" votes.

Ted Cruz just voted Yes on the motion to proceed to the CR. Huh?

Wait. RT @sahilkapur: Ted Cruz just voted Yes on the motion to proceed to the CR. Huh?

Wrong. This was a motion to schedule the vote on cloture. It’s just a procedural vote, in other words — one that Sen. Cruz never said he would oppose. The key cloture vote will take place on Saturday.
.@taniel @sahilkapur @zbyronwolf You guys know this is only on the motion to proceed, right? Cloture on the bill comes on Saturday.

Cruz never said he would vote against this. This is not the vote you guys are looking for. That's cloture to end debate, later this week
