Holy crap, you guys! Can you believe what Paul Ryan said today about Puerto Rico?
‚ÄĒ The Hill (@thehill) October 12, 2017
He’s a real coldhearted bastard, isn’t he? Typical Republican monster, right?
Remember when Romney lost the election and the GOP said they had to do better to win over Latino voters?
They've given up on that. https://t.co/aT6L8CE8EX

And The Hill has evidently given up on honest reporting.

The first three paragraphs of the article:
Speaker¬†Paul Ryan¬†(R-Wis.) said Thursday that Puerto Rico is facing a ‚Äúhumanitarian crisis‚ÄĚ and argued that the federal government has a responsibility to provide personnel and aid to the hurricane-ravaged island territory.
But Ryan also appeared to defend controversial remarks by President Trump that federal resources cannot remain in Puerto Rico ‚Äúforever,‚ÄĚ saying the territory needs to get back¬†‚Äúon its own two feet.‚ÄĚ The president did not make similar comments about two other regions that have been slammed by hurricanes, Houston and south Florida.
‚ÄúYes, we need to make sure that Puerto Rico can begin to stand on its own two feet,‚ÄĚ Ryan told reporters at his weekly news conference. ‚ÄúThey‚Äôve already had tough fiscal problems to begin with. ‚Ķ We‚Äôve got to do more to help Puerto Rico rebuild its own economy so that it can be self-sufficient.‚ÄĚ
But The Hill couldn’t’ve given Ryan some context in their tweet or anything like that. No, that would’ve been too honest.
What a pathetic excuse for journalism.
Some might say that what he said was the exact opposite of what the headline was trying to extrapolate.

Holy shit, now that's just plain irresponsible

@thehill I expect better of you than this.
It is massively irresponsible to mislead like this.

See, there’s your problem: If you expect better of The Hill, then you should also expect to be disappointed.
Words don't matter.
