In case you missed it, NBC will be hosting a town hall event for Donald Trump on Thursday night — opposite ABC’s town hall event for Joe Biden.

And Politico Magazine columnist and veteran political analyst Jeff Greenfield couldn’t be angrier:
The decision by NBC News to run a Trump town hall directly opposite ABC's Biden town hall is indefensible.
— Jeff Greenfield (@greenfield64) October 14, 2020
Not just annoying, but indefensible!
— Dr. Kankokage (@kankokage) October 14, 2020
Oh, the humanity!
Honestly going to need someone to explain this to me. Why would a news network owe deference to a competitor’s town hall with another candidate? https://t.co/osqKodcnxR

I really don't understand this reaction. Why is it indefensible? Because it supposedly helps Trump/hurts Biden? Why would one assume that? https://t.co/rmcJsLg4Z5

Asked, and answered:
Um, because they don't like Trump? https://t.co/FkacL3OV7V

Because they don't like Trump.
It's that simple.
— Pradheep J. Shanker (@Neoavatara) October 14, 2020
It really is.

Firms up all of my suspicions about NBC and its subsidiaries.

Everyone needs to tell @NBCNews that they do this and people are done with @nbc and the @peacockTV.
— BreeTennant (@shaw4light) October 14, 2020
Will be interesting to see the ratings! Personally our house will be watching baseball!
— Susan Stack (@Hockeymom336) October 14, 2020
Wait … your house won’t be watching Joe Biden’s town hall? TIME TO BOYCOTT YOUR HOUSE.
I've heard from over a dozen NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC sources (talent and staff) and the frustration with and anger toward their employer for scheduling a town hall against Biden is palpable.
— Yashar Ali ? (@yashar) October 14, 2020
Oh, we have no doubt it’s palpable. You can actually feel the spittle collecting at the corners of their mouths.
We're entering a peculiar phase of journalism where the employees think they're entitled to controlling the network/newspaper/outlet, rather than viewing themselves as… employees. https://t.co/5U3FyjKPJK
